INNOVATION Needs

SOLAR PV SECURITY ON DISTRICT GOVERNORS

Solar panels are increasingly being utilised by the networks, who seek an alternative power arrangement (to mains fed) to energise low demand equipment. However, there has been an increase in systematic theft of these solar panels, which costs the networks a significant amount of money and replacement time. Currently, there are not any adequate solutions to mitigate the problem and protect the solar panels from theft.

Problem

There is a need to find a solution to decrease the direct visibility of the solar panel and make its unauthorised removal more difficult, if not impossible.
