Gas Migration and Billing

Gas Networks Ireland (Part of the ERVIA group) has several supply entry points and gases with different compositions are introduced into them. These differences in gas components have an impact in calorific value and the compression factor. As gas migration ebbs and flows on the network depending upon seasons and consumption, this has an effect on billing because the majority of gas points do not have site specific gas analytical equipment.

Innovation need

Gas Networks Ireland are seeking both a centralised gas migration system and cost effective gas analysers for specific site/ location gas analysis.
