Alternative drilling techniques

Gas leaks are currently detected by drilling holes along roads or pavements using hand power SDS drills which have high levels of vibration or jam/jar easily when hitting different material types.  The maximum hole depth is circa 300mm  A GDN are looking for equipment, technology or innovation that the perform the same function in a more controlled and safe manner.

Techniques that are quieter and/or quicker and that limit the effect or impact on any sub surface services e.g.water, telecoms or electricity would be of interest.
