Smart Street Works Barriers

Barriers are essential for protecting the public from active street works but without clearly displayed information about what is taking place, it can be a costly problem for our electricity distribution network operators (DNOs).

Not displaying the necessary information can lead to fines. DNOs can also be charged for barriers that have fallen over and have become an ineffective safety measure or been left on location after the road works have been completed.

For additional information about this opportunity click here: EIC Call for Innovation: Smart Street Works Barriers

That’s where we need your help! Our DNO partner is seeking a smart barrier that would better display the required information. The network is also looking for a more efficient system so that the barriers are dealt with quickly after a fall or promptly collected from site when no longer required.

If you think you have the skill sets or experience to respond to this challenge, register your interest by calling us on 0151 348 8040 and quoting the reference number DNO-16-03 or by completing the form below.

The deadline for registering initial interest in this call is Wednesday 24th August 2016.

This is the latest in a series of calls for innovation, managed by the EIC, which offers innovators the opportunity to register interest and propose potential solutions to targeted energy distribution sector problems.
