The latest in a series of Calls for Innovation seeks potential solutions to a strategic challenge related to the development of an outcome based innovation measurement framework.
Since its inception in 1995, the regulatory framework has evolved to reflect changes in the industry and the wider economic environment. In order for networks to deliver value and respond to changing customer needs, it is proposed that RIIO2 (the next regulatory period) should introduce an appropriate innovation measurement framework. This framework should motivate the right behaviours, genuinely support network companies to continue to create innovative cultures within their businesses and deliver value for customers.
The distribution networks are seeking a partner who will assist them in developing an outcome based measurement framework on innovation that will be presented to the regulator Ofgem in the first half of 2018.
The expected output is a cost effective approach that can be applied to all distribution network businesses, encourages and supports cultural change and delivers the outcomes required by Ofgem on behalf of energy customers.
