Lithium-ion Battery Detection

A waste management partner is seeking potential solutions related to the detection of lithium-ion batteries within various waste stream scenarios.

In recent years there has been an increase in Lithium-ion batteries found in waste and recycling streams. However, if punctured they can ignite and vent with flames for several minutes resulting in fires in recycling plants and storage points.

This call is looking for innovative ways to detect the Lithium-ion batteries within the waste handling process in order to prevent catastrophic fires.
